Claims

Claims can be reported to the Agency during normal business hours. In the event of an emergency, Art can be reached either at his home or on his cell to handle the claim personally.

Each claim is handled differently depending on the specific policy.

  • Auto claims are typically called into the claims department, this number can be found on the automobile ID cards.
  • All other claims are called into our agency, where staff is more than happy to assist the client.
  • Once the general information is received from the client, it is then put into a report and forwarded on to the appropriate claims department.
  • The claims department then assigns the client an adjuster, who's job is to contact the client, evaluate loss and determine coverage.

Our agency does it's best to refer clients to a qualified restoration company that can assist with their needs as quickly as possible. Sometimes clients feel more comfortable having Art come the day of the claim to answer questions, take photos and assist with claim related needs, Art is more than willing to take the time to do this.

Below you will find some common claim questions and answers:

Q. Why did I only received partial payment for my claim?

A. It is common for clients to receive a small portion of the claim money before the damages have been repaired. This is to ensure that the payment is in fact used to fix the damage it was intended for. Once damages have been repaired and the final bill turned in to the adjuster, the remaining money will be sent to the client.

Q. How long will it take the adjuster to contact me?

A. This really depends on how urgent the claim is. For example if pipes are broken and water is further damaging the premises, it is very important that we get the claim handled that same day. However, if the wind has blown shingles off the roof, but it is not leaking water it may take the adjuster a week to call. This makes it important for the client to be specific about the claim they are reporting. If clients feel it has taken too long for the adjuster to call we encourage them to contact our office.

Q. I have received a check to repair damages, but it is made out to my Mortgage Company?

A. When a mortgage company is involved it is the insurance companies obligation to send/address the claim check to that company. This is to protect the mortgage company. i.e. The home is financed through a mortgage company, but the check gets mailed to the client. If the client chooses not to fix the damages and defaults on the loan as well than the mortgage company will be held responsible for fixing those damages.
