Community Activities

Born and raised in Sterling, I grew up on the family farm and ranch. I also unknowingly began my insurance training around the dinner table with my father and grandfather. After I graduated from Sterling High, I went to NJC for two years, and then to Northwest Oklahoma State University. From there it was out in the “cold, hard world”, working for corporate America In Tulsa, OK and along the Front Range of Colorado. It was after I realized all of the things I dreamt of being close to, I either didn’t have time or money, or both to take advantage of these things. This is when I realized how much my family means to me, and what a big deal it is to live in a town where people wave to you and smile at you in a restaurant or store, where people aren’t afraid to make eye contact, or honk at you when your walk down the street. This is why I came back to Sterling, and why I made this the place I will spend my life watching my daughter grow up, and watching my community grow.

I have been a member of the community for 29 years, and am a member of the Chamber of Commerce. I also belong to the Elks Club and sit on the community advisory board for a local business, and the Board of directors for another local business.
