Farm Fire Insurance
Your farm policy also has an option where you can include coverage of outbuildings and or farm machinery from fire damage.

Farm Liability Insurance
Let's face it, people are always ready to sue, even if they are walking on your property and trip and fall. Therefore, Farmers Union includes liability coverage for bodily injury or property damage. This may or may not be covered in your existing farm policy. Also note that this can also include Medical Payments Coverage if injuries occur to your visitors or guests.

Equipment Breakdown Endorsement
This is a unique coverage offered by National Farmers Union Insurance. Equipment breakdown covers mechanical breakdown, electrical short circuit, centrifugal force, boiler overheating, cracking, and bulging, and pressure vessel bulging, cracking, and collapse. Farm Advantage Endorsement:
This endorsement includes protection from theft of livestock, increased haystack limit, property damage to rented or borrowed irrigation equipment, sign coverage, cargo coverage, and lock replacement.

Three most commonly asked questions:

1) Does Farmers Union cover machinery and equipment if they are parked in a rented shed space and that shed collapses on them do to weight of ice and snow?

National Farmers Union currently covers damages caused to machinery and other property in the event a rented shed or rented building collapses on them. However, National Farmers Union is looking to change this in the near future so farmers are not covered under these conditions. Right now, we are fighting this change from occurring to protect our current and future clients as we understand how important this coverage is. 2) Does Farmers Union allow to have more then one building site covered under one policy?

Yes, Farmers Union allows us to add more then one location and the related buildings and dwellings to one Farm and Ranch policy providing that the property is owned by the same individual and it is all located in the same state. If you some property in Minnesota and some in South Dakota, two separate policies will need to be taken out, one for each state.

3) Can I list my snowmobile under my farm or ranch policy?

Yes, National Farmers Union has an endorsement for adding a snowmobile to your farm and ranch policy. This endorsement covers only liability on the snowmobile, though. You also have the option of adding the snowmobile to your auto policy where you can obtain comprehensive coverages, too.
