About Us

David was born and raised in the Mahnomen MN area.  After graduating from Mahnomen High School he went on to Bemidji State University, graduating there in 1970 with a bachelors degree in American Studies and Biological Sciences. 

From 1972 through 1973 David was County Executive Director for the Cottonwood County (MN) Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS).  In 1973 David took a position as County Executive Director for the Kandiyohi County (MN) ASCS office.  ASCS is a Federal Agricultural Agency in charge of administering Federal Agricultural production, financial loans, and conservation programs.  In 1978 he moved to Mahnomen and bought his parents farmstead and land.

In 1978 David started his own QBE Farmers Union Insurance Agency.  David is actively farming as well as handling the needs of his many Insurance clients.  David and his wife, a teacher at Mahnomen Elementary, raised four children.  David II, Joseph, Michael and Kathleen were very active in school and have all gone on to either graduate or are in the process of graduating college.
