About Us

First of all, I want to thank you for taking time to view my web page.  I have been a part of Mankato and Jewell County nearly all of my life.  I was raised by Terry and Irene Ortman, currently of Mankato, and I graduated from Mankato High School in 1995.  I attended 1 year of college at Kansas State University and received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Kansas Wesleyan University.  While at Kansas Wesleyan University I earned letters all 4 years as a member of the university's golf team. 

My love for golf continued on for another 5 years while I was an Assistant Golf Professional at the Salina Country Club.  I hit a crossroads in 2005 and had considered getting out of the golf business when I was approached by my current District Manager to consider moving back to Mankato to work for QBE Farmers Union Insurance.  Roy Bradshaw, who was the prior agent at that time was going to retire in early 2006. 

Roy had built up a very nice business throughout Jewell County and he encouraged me to make the move back to Mankato.  Because I trusted and respected Roy, the decision to become the local agent was very easy to make.

Being a former resident I was also very excited at the opportunity to come back home and be a business person in the community.  I remind myself daily of how fortunate I am to be back home, and now my goal is to help take care of the people that have taken care of me all of my life.

I am also very fortunate to have Mary Reiter assisting in my office. resident of Mankato.  Mary, like myself is a native of Jewell County is a Mankato resident.  She is a wonderful asset for my business and has been a valued employee since 1995.
