My grandfather came to America and homesteaded a farm in North Dakota.  I was born and raised on that farm, and working with my family gave me a direct, first-hand view of farmers and the farming lifestyle.  Their hard working commitment, self starter attitude, and the value placed on care of the farm, family and community had a major impact on me.

A referral of a farmer to an insurance company is what started my insurance career.  The District Manager of that company got in touch with me.  QBE Farmers Union Agency offered me a job one year later, in 1990.

Not everyone can change careers in the same town.  However, when someone saw my professionalism had the making of a good insurance agent, I changed careers.  Before I became an agent, I was a secretary for the Operations Manager and Agricultural Manager of American Crystal Sugar here in Crookston, MN.

Being a single parent family, juggling is my secret to success.  Whether it be finances, time, family and business relationships, volunteering in the community or just plain down time, one needs a balanced life.  This theory proved success, as all my children attended college and paid their own way. The grandchildren are just starting this same route.
