Community Activities

I moved to the Menahga community in 1984 and have found it to be a great place to live and raise a family.  My three sons attended and graduated from the Menahga Public school, which is an excellent school system.  Since graduation, two of my sons live and work closer to the Twin Cities and my youngest son is attending college in the Fargo/Moorhead area.  All of them still love to come home to Menahga.  Even though my family is grown and living elsewhere, I choose to stay in Menahga because of the great small town atmosphere and personal relationships that have been formed over the years.

I have always believed that it is important to contribute and be a part of your community.  Throughout the years of living in Menahga, I was elected and served two terms on our School Board as a director, chaired the Civic and Commerce Midsummer Queens Pageant for 10 years, served on the school policy committee updating old and implementing new policies and participated in our local Dollars for Scholars scholarship program for many years.  I have a great interest in local government and currently was re-elected to the Menahga city council for my third term.  I also am a member of the United Methodist Church and belong to the Menahga Gateway Lions club.

I feel that I am a people person who likes to be involved in the decision making aspects of a club or our community.  This ties in quite nicely with being in the insurance business with the idea of helping clients decide what their insurance needs are, purchasing the right policy and offering great customer service.
