About Me and Our Colorado Insurance Agency:

Born and raised a north western Iowa farm girl, I migrated to the big city of Denver, CO after graduating from a small town high school, in search of career opportunities and further education.
With no specific career path yet, I took a job in the credit department of Dun & Bradstreet. After spending too much time behind a typewriter, I needed a change. A position in the actuarial department of Capitol Life Insurance Company offered more challenge and opportunity.

Twelve years in the hustle bustle of a rapidly growing city while working, going to college and handling the responsibility of a family, I yearned for the small town farming atmosphere of my youth. After years of weekends and vacations throughout Colorado I knew the perfect place. We established new roots and ranch living in the Wet Mountains outside Westcliffe and Silver Cliff, with a view of the spectacular Sangre de Cristo Mountains. We raised livestock and participated in the local 4-H and other community activities. I was definitely at home with ranch life, and my kids were in a school comparable to the one I attended in Iowa.

After working with the County Zoning Office as County Coordinator for several years, I wanted my own business. In 1982 Business Services Unlimited became a reality offering bookkeeping, accounting, secretarial, telephone answering services, and office supplies. I soon established business relationships and valued friendships with associates of QBE Farmers Union Insurance Company.

In 1986 Business Services Unlimited expanded to Trinidad where I shared office space with the local QBE Farmers Union Insurance Company agent. When that agent decided to pursue another career, I proudly became the new QBE Farmers Union agent in Trinidad.
