About Us

I am originally from Adams, North Dakota which is located in Western Walsh County. When I graduated from High School I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where I served for 3 years. After serving in the Vietnam War I was stationed at Cherry Point, North Carolina where I served as a Military Policeman. After an honorable discharged, I attended Valley City State University and graduated with a double major in Business and Physical Education.

I taught and coached for five years in Hebron, North Dakota, after which I worked in the banking industry for a number of years and then joined QBE Farmers Union Insurance in 1994.

My wife Nancy and I moved to Hillsboro with our 3 Children in 1982. Our grown children, Justin, Julie and Joy all graduated from Hillsboro Public School and attended college and have good jobs. They are all married, and we have five grandchildren: Janessa, Ray, Krista, Marlie and Trey - they are a lot of fun to be with. My daughter Joy assists me from time to time at my office, helping with various tasks.

Hillsboro is a great place to live and raise a family. We are a community of about 1500 people and the County Seat for Traill County. Hillsboro offers a medical center which has a clinic, hospital, assisted living and a long term care services, all under one roof. We have an excellent school system, along with many recreational activities for all ages.

Our office is located in downtown Hillsboro on Caledonia Avenue which is the street you turn onto as you exit off of I-29. Just go east on Caledonia Avenue until you get to the first stop sign. Continue to travel east into the next block and we are in a red and white building on the north side of the street.
