Rick grew up on a family farm in Lamoure County near Litchville, ND and graduated from NDSU with a business degree. While in college he worked part time at the QBE Farmers Union Insurance office in Fargo and started full time with the company after graduation. Rick moved his agency from Fargo to West Fargo in 1980.

Shane attended North Dakota State University while working in the West Fargo QBE Farmers Union Insurance Agency for his father, Rick, until he graduated with a degree in business. Upon graduation from NDSU he was hired by QBE Farmers Union to work full time as an agent in the West Fargo office.

The Lebahn family is very active in the QBE Farmers Union organization, including attending camps and local and state meetings. In addition to his son, Shane, Rick also has one brother who is the Claims Manager for QBE Farmers Union Mutual Insurance Company, another brother who is a District Manager in Kansas with National QBE Farmers Union, and a nephew who is the QBE Farmers Union Agent in Valley City, ND.  QBE Farmers Union is definitely a large part of the Lebahn Family.

In addition to Rick and Shane, the agency team also includes Rita Hess, who has been the CSR for over 25 years, and Shane's wife Tami, who also assists in the office.

The Auto Claims Appraiser for National QBE Farmers Union, John Gaffney, also works out of the same office building which makes the claims process very efficient.
